The mission of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church
Choir is to assist the congregation in singing their songs
with renewed energy; to assist the pastor in preparing
hearts and minds to acknowledge and celebrate God and
His mighty acts of love and grace; and to assure that all
God’s children have a place in the choir because we were
all made to sing and when voices are added to voices, a
wonderful result is achieved that blesses God and God’s
people – singers and hearers alike; but like all blessings, a
responsibility is attached, to use our music to point to God,
the One seated on the throne, Who delights in our song.
Father, grant that what we sing with our lips we may
believe in our hearts… …and that what we believe in
our hearts may we show forth in our lives.
Through Christ Jesus our Lord,
Amen

A Church Musicians Prayer
Church music if for You, God. I praise You, God, for
every gift in our possession, because each gift presumes a
Giver, and each ability finds its origin in God’s creativity.
Without God’s joy, there would be no song worth singing.
Without the gift of music, we would not know the art of
making music or the extreme delight in using word and
sound to God’s glory.
God is our theme. We can never exhaust so vast a
subject. By God’s Spirit we find new meaning in old songs,
and new songs are born out of the freshness of God’s Word.
I thank You, God...
…for the rich heritage of music from the past…
…for the composers of today, who are adding to the rich
legacy of song…
…for those whose gift it is to use their voice to create
an atmosphere of worship…
…for the joy of leading the congregation in song…
…for the joy of assisting the choir find their special voice.
I shun...
…carelessly performing music unfit for God’s praise…
…drawing attention to myself rather than pointing to
God…
…neglect of the meaning of the song…
…singing without personal commitment to God.
I pray that church musicians will be servants,
cooperating with other musicians and the congregation to
lead in both the solemnity and exuberance of true worship.
Amen
